Key west is a very unique place with buildings and houses of incredible architecture. Among them is Truman's Little White House, writer Ernest Hemingway's house, telling the stories of his book
writing and of his life, gardens and swimming pool, and the graves of the several cats he had as his companions. There's also a bar called "Sloppy Joe's" where Hemingway used to have his drinks with friends. And several museums, the harbor and shipwrecks.
This is he southernmost point in the US and it is only 90 miles away from Cuba, in fact it is closer to Cuba than it is to Miami which is 150 miles away from the island. Besides the Southernmost Point
marker there are other attractions such as Dry Tortugas National Park - which can be assessed by ferry or small plane and where you can practice snorkeling, Fort Zachary Taylor State Historical Park, Smathers Beach which has free parking, Key West Lighthouse,
St.Paul's - the first church built in Key West.
Here we camped at Leo's Campground (the photo is in our front page) and visited all these places and tried the famous Key Lime Pie - the
tradicional dessert of Key West...delicious...And we have to mention also that the sunsets in this area are a show on their own!
