Cancun
incrivelmente bonito!
Cancun
From Piste after visiting the ruins we went on to visit Cancun being aware that we were about to see a Mexico totally different from what we had seen so far. In fact, as commented by a couple we met
at the same resort in Piste and who were taking a break from the crazy rush of Cancun, that Cancun is a miniature Miami due to all the American investment in this region. There are hotels of the majority of the American brands there and to tell you the
truth I was not that impressed with the place. Ok, there’s the Caribbean Sea which is the cherry of the cake but it goes along all the east side of Mexico and there are several other smaller and more rustic beaches with nice resorts most
of them as good as the ones in Cancun but they aren’t as famous as Cancun. In fact we stayed at an RV Park by the beach just south of Cancun in the town of X-Puha(yes the names look like this – Mayan influence) paying a reasonable price and enjoying
the same gorgeous greenish waters of the Caribbean.
From Cancun we headed to Playa del Carmen where you can take a ferry and visit the island of Cozumel Unfortunately it was raining so hard when we got there we decided to keep on going since
we wouldn’t be able to see or enjoy much.
One of the things which have impressed me the most here in Mexico are the butterflies, of different sizes and colors, from the very tiny ones which stay in groups to the big and colorful ones…and
the birds…from the most varied species…all incredibly beautiful!
